End Area Magnetic Enhancement

Sucker Rod End AreaTRC has developed a device that materially enhances our ability to detect cracks in the thread area, undercut area, wrench flat area, upset bead, and transition area during the end area inspection.

The device diverts the large magnetic field at the end of the sucker rod away from the areas of concern, which greatly reduces the likelihood of masking or hiding the magnetic particle indications from fatigue cracks and similar flaws during inspection.

Pin end failures represent the greatest number of down hole failures in sucker rods.  This development significantly reduces the likelihood of a sucker rod failure caused by stress buildup in the sucker rod’s end area.
